Ice cream is powerful stuff. It brings people together, it cools overheated bodies, and anyone with a cranky three-year-old can attest to the powerful mood-altering effects of even a single scoop. Basically, ice cream is one of the best parts of summer, and Whistler has no shortage of the cold stuff to satisfy almost any craving.

Traditional ice cream is made with cream, while gelato is made with milk, which makes it a bit healthier, I guess, but worrying about calories in an ice cream shop is kind of missing the point. Sorbet is dairy-free, generally made with sweetened water or puréed fruit, and frozen yogurt is just that, frozen yogurt. With so many options available, there’s only one thing to do this summer – try ’em all.

Just steps from the Whistler Gondola, The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is Whistler’s oldest ice cream shop. The ice cream is made just down the road in Vancouver, while the waffle cones and ice cream bars are hand-dipped with chocolate and/or candy sprinkles on-site at the shop. Staff Favourite — George, the owner of the Whistler store, is rarely seen without his go-to order: a chocolate-dipped cone loaded with Chocolate Cashew Overload and Mint Chocolate Chip, finished with a generous drizzle of dark chocolate.

Cows

Much more than just an ice cream shop, Cows originated on the other side of the country, on Prince Edward Island. Using an old family recipe and a penchant for puns, Cows has now successfully branched out across the country. They have 39 varieties out at all times, and this really is the place to try new things like Birthday Cake flavour or Moo-Henry.

Cows uses a premium butterfat cream for their ice cream and mix it slowly, making for richer, thicker, more flavourful scoops. Waffle cones are made in-house and chocolate-dipped if you like it that way. On hot summer days, Cows will serve up over 2000 scoops of cool, creamy goodness.

Staff Favourite – Emma recommends the Wowie Cowie, a toffee/chocolate chip/vanilla mixture reminiscent of a Skor candy bar.

Hundo-P Smoothies + Ice Cream

For real-fruit, vegan ice cream, head to Hundo-P Smoothies + Ice Cream right in the heart of the action in Whistler Village Square (next to the Whistler Grocery Store). Their ice cream is a refreshing, real fruit ice cream using coconut and cashew milk, so it’s entirely plant-based. You can choose between mango, raspberry, strawberry or blueberry. They serve it in a waffle cone coloured black with activated charcoal. Some say this is good for your digestive system, and if it means we get an ice cream, then we agree.

Lucia Gelato

Made right here in Whistler according to old-world techniques learned in Bologna, Italy, Lucia Gelato features smart flavours like White Chocolate Lavender, Double Chocolate Mint and Salted Caramel.

“I try to make everything from something that is real,” says Kathryn, founder of Lucia Gelato. “For the espresso flavour I am at home brewing espresso from locally roasted beans. For peanut butter gelato we roast peanuts and make our own peanut butter to put in there. I don’t use syrups or extracts.”

And you can taste the difference. While it’s available in many of Whistler’s restaurants and all the grocery stores, the best place to try Lucia is from the source. Their stands can be found at several of Whistler’s beaches, lakes and parks during the summer as part of the Park Eats program, and also at the Roundhouse at the top of Whistler Mountain and at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, next to Merlin’s.

Fix Cafe at Nita Lake Lodge

Enjoy house-made, fresh-pressed Sweet Fix Ice Cream from Fix Café, served in your choice of a cup or cone. Their ice cream is made in small batches with fresh local ingredients and herbs from their rooftop garden. It’s rich, creamy, and completely plant-based! Or for an extra little kick, indulge in a classic affogato.

Settle in on the sunny patio or take your treat to go and stroll along the Valley Trail to Nita Lake or Alpha Lake, just a touch further up the trail.

Summer Food Trucks at Whistler’s Parks & Lakes

May 15, 2026, marks the beginning of this summer’s food park offerings. Food trailers will be setting up on weekends (Friday to Sunday) at Lost Lake and Rainbow parks. The daily program begins on July 26, 2026 and runs through Labour Day in September, expanding to Lakeside Park on select days, and Whistler Olympic Plaza for special events.

Trucks rotate between parks, and the up-to-date schedule can be found on the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s website. Of note, the Park Eats program is weather-dependent; rain will cancel vendors in the park for the day.

This year’s program features four food trucks: Whistler Wood Fired Pizza, Lucia Gelato, The Warming Hut, and a newcomer, The Gypsy Mule.

“It’s the people that come to visit the parks that make it all worthwhile … there’s an energy about them … they remind you why you choose to live in Whistler,” remarks Korey Klein of Whistler Wood Fired Pizza.

There is a shared sense of excitement and hype on the part of this year’s vendors for the upcoming season: inspired just as much by the forthcoming interactions with customers as the gastronomic fare they are preparing to dish up. What is clear is how much the food is infused by the energetic reciprocity of exchange.

Operating for nearly a decade now, the program, which started in 2016 as a pilot, has continued to develop based on its overwhelming success over the years.

Many of the trucks have an established clientele of returning customers, locals and visitors alike. Program director Lucy Pocock has her fingers crossed for a sunny summer. She encourages everyone to come out and savour the delicious diversity of offerings, making one or all of the following food trucks part of your Whistler experience.

Whistler Wood Fired Pizza

This truck is based on a “complete harmony of the senses”, combining the sound of crackling wood burning in a clay, ceramic oven with the radiating smell of freshly-sourced ingredients emanating from thermal mass. The final touch is the sight of a pizza in hand, full of flavour and baked in 90 seconds.

This truck is self-sufficient, running off a large battery bank. Upholding principles of sustainability, owner/operator Klein speaks of the intuitive process of nurturing the oven up to a temperature of 600 degrees, a process which takes three hours before food service can commence. The oven is even credited with having and being a ‘Whistler personality.’

Offerings include nine different pizzas (non-GMO flour is sourced from Italy; gluten-free options available, too). Meats include pepperoni, salami and ham. Veggies come from local Sea to Sky farms. The truck is noted for its Rosemary Rock Salt pizza. Commenting on the oven and the process, Klein remarks: “The magic is in its simplicity.” @whistlerwoodfiredpizzacompany

The Warming Hut

Celebrating their first anniversary, The Warming Hut, which is “designed to resemble a rustic alpine cabin, decorated with vintage skis,” operates as a mobile café, offering specialty coffee.

There are also delicious snacks, including salted caramel cookies and banana bread, along with kombucha and other refreshing non-alcoholic beverages. New for this year, they’re adding affogatos (espresso and ice cream) to the menu, as well as offering a loyalty card for regulars.

Davidson relays, “Building and operating my small business in Whistler has been an incredibly rewarding experience. This town has a community like no other, and my business wouldn’t be possible without the support of so many individuals. It truly takes a village!”

Lucia Gelato

Lucia Gelato sorbets and gelatos are crafted in the 18 Below Building at Base 2 on Blackcomb Mountain. Tancrede Cantayre, a professional pastry chef from France, took over ownership last September and has worked with the previous owner for an entire year. They are excited to update some of the old recipes and release some new ones, promising “seasonal, fresh and natural” flavours.

Emphasis is being placed on sourcing local ingredients, ranging from strawberries to pumpkins. New flavours this year include a lemon and yuzu sorbet, a strawberry basil sorbet and a dulce de leche gelato. Flavours will rotate through the summer.

Lucia Gelato can also be sourced in every grocery store in Whistler and supplies most restaurants in town. However, the appeal of the Park Eats Program is the chance “to get to put a smile on people’s faces” and “to hear other people’s stories.” Smiles abound at the welcome sight of an ice cream truck at the lake. @luciagelato

The Gypsy Mule

The Gypsy Mule is the newest food truck at the lakes this summer. Owned and operated by local Mathieu Letourneau, he’s inspired by fun, healthy foods that help fuel people doing all that Whistler has to offer in the summer months.

His menu includes rotating summer salads, inspired by the farms surrounding his home in Pemberton Meadows, as well as granola parfaits, overnight oats, healthy energy bars, real-fruit ice creams, and chocolate-covered frozen bananas. 

“When I travelled to El Salvador, I had a frozen banana dipped in chocolate for dessert most nights,” says Letourneau. “It was a healthier sweet treat, and I thought – why is no one doing this?”

Originally from Quebec, the home of the sugar shack, he loves to put maple syrup into his creations, and you’ll find it in his Nitrogen Oat Maple Matcha. He’s also serving up nitrogen coffee and teas with a unique twist. “The nitrogen gives the drinks a velvety, smooth texture,” he explains. “I’m developing some low-sugar iced teas with ingredients like hibiscus and cinnamon.”

The food truck is made from an old horse trailer he saw on the side of the road, and speaks to Letourneau’s values of reusing before buying new.

“People enjoying the sun and the water, that’s what Whistler was originally based on,” he says. “I’m excited to be part of the lake vibe this summer!”

I’ve lived in Whistler for nearly a decade now. I arrived in Whistler from Nova Scotia in the fall for “only one winter season”, but sure enough, I stayed for the Whistler summers. I’ve come to realize that each season has something to offer, but overall, my favourite time of year is spring.

Why? Sure, I love the birds and the buds, multi-sport days and the feel of the sun on my skin, but to be honest, it’s more about fueling my body and getting the most bang for my buck. What better time to awaken your taste buds than with Whistler’s spring dining specials after a day enjoying all the mountains have to offer?

The dining specials mean you can indulge in a three-course meal at an award-winning restaurant for as low as $29. The offers start early April and typically run until the end of May, although each place has a slightly different date range. What’s incredible about Whistler’s dining scene is its variety; with over 100 restaurants to choose from, there’s bound to be something to satisfy your cravings.

Mekong

Located in Whistler Creekside, Mekong opened its doors in July 2023. It’s the ultimate tribute to Thai cuisine. A highlight for me was the Tuna Crudo and Pad See Ew, although I also loved the decor. Their four-course special is a hidden gem.

Sushi Village

Sushi is my go-to for eating out and something I look forward to every year when the spring dining offers come around. My favourite place to celebrate my birthday is Sushi Village. They take large group bookings, and the servers are so accommodating, so it’s a great spot to enjoy an array of Japanese favourites with all your family and friends. I’ll definitely be organizing my May birthday celebrations around their three-course special.

This is farm-to-table dining at its finest. The setting is contemporary, and word on the street is that their plant-based alternatives are the best in town!

Trattoria di Como

Trattoria di Como takes you from the mountains to the warm, classical feel of Italy. Terracotta, cream and warm wood tones are accented by an eye-catching mosaic and ornately framed artwork, setting the scene for an elegant yet cozy space. Whistler’s general vibe tends to buck tradition, but this is a restaurant that celebrates authenticity, which is what makes it stand out.

For those who have been to Whistler before, this “new” restaurant (opened in spring 2026) is actually the return of a 30-year institution, “The Tratt,” made famous in Whistler by renowned chef Umberto Menghi. Historically, a trattoria was a place where a host (“trattore”) would “treat” guests to honest, nourishing food, and that spirit holds at Como. The food isn’t pretentious, but each bite reveals the care that’s gone into the ingredients and preparation.

Must-try antipasti include the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and Diced Pacific Ahi Tuna. Follow with one of their handcrafted pastas and an expertly selected wine. Signature dishes like the Veal alla Milanese and Grilled Porterhouse Fiorentina are rich and bold, but make sure to save room for the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée, which delivers that perfectly satisfying crack as you break its marbled top.

Trattoria Di Como delivers refined Italian dining in a relaxed, warm setting, backed by impeccable service.

Rimrock Café

A pillar of fine dining in Whistler, Rimrock Café has been at the forefront of the local culinary scene for more than four decades. Sustainability and seasonality are cornerstones of its coast-inspired menu. From expertly prepared game meats and specialty seafood to arguably the most famous dessert in Whistler, the legendary sticky toffee pudding, the story of Rimrock Café is one of friendship, passion for hospitality, and a love for exceptional dining.

High-end indulgence is paired with a genuinely relaxed, family-style atmosphere, a place where first-time visitors and 40-year regulars feel at home. It’s a restaurant you simply don’t want to leave once you’ve crossed the threshold.

For more than three decades, Bearfoot Bistro has played an instrumental role in shaping Whistler’s fine dining scene. Frequently listed among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants and recognized by the Distinguished Restaurants of North America, Bearfoot is a true landmark. Its motto says it all: “a fork, a glass, a drop of magic.”

Bearfoot Bistro is world-renowned for its signature experiences: the coldest vodka tasting room on the planet (kept at -32°C, where guests don Arctic parkas to enter); a 15,000-bottle wine cellar, the largest in British Columbia and one of the most impressive in Western Canada, and guest-sabering champagne offerings, all complemented by modern, coast-to-coast Canadian cuisine. Alongside these showstoppers, the food itself is celebrated for its outstanding flavours, appealing textures and creative originality.

Il Caminetto

Il Caminetto is guided by a simple yet powerful intention: to give guests a genuine sense of place. Executive Chef Mark McLoughlin describes the restaurant as “fresh and vibrant” and “high energy,” qualities that are immediately felt upon arrival.

Il Caminetto’s menu is shaped by the question: How can local be done in an Italian way? The answer reveals itself in a harmonious balance of Mediterranean sensibilities and regionally inspired flavours. Locally sourced products and meats take centre stage, resulting in a menu as inviting as the ambiance. At Il Caminetto, you arrive and leave feeling cared for.

The restaurant boasts a long-established history, having first opened in the early 1980s as Umberto’s before being shepherded by the Toptable Group in 2017. Today, it is synonymous with style and quality. Dishes such as Fregola Sarda ai Frutti di Mare and Risotto ai Funghi, alongside Tofino Spring Salmon and Lumina Valley Lamb Brassato, showcase a thoughtfully localized palette.

Distinguished Pacific Northwest fare is served with a sense of familial generosity. The approach shines through the menu’s emphasis on shareable starters, where polish and precision are balanced with a cozy, home-like atmosphere.

Overseeing the kitchen since 2019, Chef McLoughlin is “in love with the simplicity and focus on ingredients that come with Italian cooking.” That passion infuses every dish, translating into a dining experience that must be experienced. Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar

Since opening in 2022, Wild Blue has made a remarkable impression on Whistler’s dining scene. Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar

Fear not – there are no actual beavers involved. Instead, this iconic Canadian pastry is like a flat, crispy donut, hand-stretched into the shape of a beaver’s tail, honouring Canada’s national animal. You can choose from their menu of delicious toppings, or even create your own custom creation! 

As one of the friendly staff explained:

“For many Canadians, BeaverTails is synonymous with skiing. With locations at ski fields around Canada, it was often part of their childhood skiing tradition.”

For our visitors to Canada, trying a BeaverTail is a bit like your first coffee at Tim Hortons – a right of passage when visiting!

Bannock Donuts at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre

Bannock (also known as Fry Bread) has deep roots in Indigenous cultures across North America. Before the European influence that brought wheat flour and baking powder, Bannock was made with local grains and lichens. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre has crafted this traditional food into delicious, sweet bannock donuts at their Thunderbird Cafe.

Depending on the season, you might even be treated to a special flavour – like the one pictured here that comes with a surprise eggnog filling!

Portobello Maple Bacon Donut

Maple is synonymous with Canada, whether it’s the maple leaf, the maple tree or maple syrup. A sweet and salty treat, meanwhile, is universally synonymous with delicious.

Canadians know that maple syrup can go on just about anything, so it’s unsurprising that maple syrup and bacon are a Canadian signature when it comes to delicious treats. One bite of Portobello’s maple bacon donut and you’ll understand why this unlikely combo is a favourite.

COWS Cownadian Maple Ice Cream

COWS ice cream is made on Prince Edward Island and transported all the way across the country. So when you’re enjoying a scoop of COWS ice cream, you’re getting a true taste of the East Coast right here in Whistler.

Nanaimo Bar at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre

Australians and New Zealanders argue over the origin of the pavlova dessert, and Canadians (politely) debate the Nanaimo bar. Named after Nanaimo, a town on Vancouver Island, this classic Canadian treat features a crumbed graham cracker and coconut base, a custard middle and a smooth chocolate top.

It’s believed the first recipe dates back to the 1950s, but the origin is still contested. In fact, the City of Nanaimo encourages anyone with a published recipe from the early 1950s to bring it forward and help settle the debate! Enjoying a Nanaimo bar at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is essentially your own bite-sized piece of Canadian history. 

Bear Claw at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is now famous across Canada for its handmade chocolate and decadent treats, but did you know it all started right here in Whistler in 1988?! That alone earns it a spot on your sweet treat hit-list.

The staff told me that:

“The Bear Claw is made with our signature handmade caramel, which is why it’s so popular.”

Dipped in their famous chocolate and finished with cashew ‘claws’, once you’ve tried it, you’ll be sneaking a few extras in as pocket snacks for your adventures.

Maple Taffy

Maple taffy is a uniquely Canadian winter treat – hot maple syrup poured onto ice or snow and rolled onto a stick as it cools. You’ll spot it at winter events and festivals around Whistler, and when you do, you HAVE to try it!

Sticky, sweet and a little bit magical – this treat perfectly captures winter in Canada.

The Whistler Farmers’ Market showcases a vibrant mix of local farms bringing in fresh, seasonal produce from the Sea to Sky region and across BC. From fresh veggies and fruit to local butter, honey, meat and seafood — the Market has everything you need to stock up for the week.

Four Beat Farm is a market regular, bringing organic veggies, greens, fruits, and flowers from our neighbouring town of Pemberton. Everything’s in-season and straight from the field. Later in the summer (usually from late July to October), Willowcraft Farm comes in from the Birken Valley with garlic, berries, fruit and stunning buckets of flowers. You can even build your own bouquet! 

You can find an incredible variety of mushrooms from Sea to Sky Wild Mushrooms, from Lion’s Mane to Oyster and everything in between. If you’re into blueberries (and who isn’t?), don’t miss Hare’s Farm. They bring their sweet, certified organic Pemberton blueberries to the market, typically from mid-July through early September. You can shop for more berries and fruit varieties from Mandair Farms (from Abbotsford), Playlist Lavender (bringing yummy cherries from the Okanagan region) and AIG Produce Osoyoos. 

At the Whistler Farmers’ Market, you can also shop for ethically sourced meats and seafood. Pemberton Meat Co. and Goodfish Seafood have you covered with local, sustainable options. Locally made butter and farm-fresh eggs are available from Artemisia Farmstead, so you can really get all of your weekly grocery shopping done locally at the Market.

On-Site Food and Treats

My number one tip when visiting the Whistler Farmers’ Market is to arrive hungry. There is so much incredible food to eat, from hot lunch items like pizza from Whistler Wood Fired Pizza, savoury and sweet crepes from Folie Crepes, scallion pancakes from Taiwan Bento, sausage rolls from The British Baker, samosas from Nidhi’s Cuisine or Okonomiyaki from Jeggs (to name a few). Top it off with a snow cone from Frostbites or popcorn from Sargeant Popper’s Kettle Corn.

Waste Management

Since 2013, the Whistler Farmers’ Market has partnered with AWARE, Whistler’s environmental charity, to keep market waste out of the landfill. AWARE hosts a zero-waste station at every Sunday Market, helping market customers separate waste items for recycling or composting in an effort to achieve zero waste. 

Next time you head to the market, remember to bring your reusable shopping and produce bags. And for all the waste items you can’t avoid, visit the Zero Waste station in the middle of the market!

The Coupon Program

The Whistler Farmers’ Market works with the BC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program and Whistler Community Services to provide a healthy eating initiative that supports farmers’ markets and strengthens food security within the community. Coupons are provided to lower-income families, pregnant people and seniors. The coupons can be spent to purchase vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, dairy, honey, meat and fish.

We’ve laid out a few of our top, on-mountain dining picks for Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, from fancy charcuterie boards to curry bowls, and elk salami sandwiches to fully loaded buttermilk waffles.

You don’t even have to be a skier to hit up the Roundhouse or Rendezvous lodges; all you need is an appetite!

Blackcomb Mountain

Glacier Creek – NEW Menu Items

Head into Glacier Creek for some new food options this year with tacos, fish and chips, pasta and gnocchi, grains and greens, and ramen all being served. With a street-food vibe in mind the senior director of mountain dining for Whistler Blackcomb, Wolfgang Sterr, has revamped the options and the result is tasty!

We especially loved the gnocchi with its zingy, tomato sauce at the new pasta station, but that’s not to dismiss the perfectly battered fish cooked on a skewer (a la famous Chef Gordan Ramsey).

You can taste the reinvigorated passion at Glacier Lodge as the team welcomes the tastebuds of thousands of skiers and riders. Part of that passion is in finding authentic and/or local produce. The soft tacos are from a Vancouver company that specifically imports Mexican goods, the fish batter uses Stanley Park Brewing’s Trailhopper IPA and the fish is from the Lower Mainland and Alaska.

It’s also good to know that along with a taco, you can add a churro and grab-and-go margarita!

Rendezvous Lodge

This ski lodge eatery has six different options including, The Coop: Chicken & Fries, Taqueria, Black Diamond Burger Co., Good Bowls, Kettle Soups & Stews, and First Tracks: Breakfast & Brunch. This means you have your staple options like burgers, chicken fingers (tossed in hot honey), mac and cheese, and chili, alongside some more unique options.

We’re a fan of the curry bowls where you choose your protein (chicken, pork, tofu or veggie) and base of either noodles, rice or salad and then either green or red curry. Served with kale, bell pepper, green beans, and gia lan (Chinese broccoli) with papaya slaw, these are a healthy and tasty option for lunch on the mountain.

You can never go wrong with a hearty burrito, packed with your choice of protein, romaine, rice, black beans, sauteed onions and peppers, shredded cheese, pickled cabbage, salsa verde, pico de Gallo, jalapenos and hot, chipotle sauce.

Once you’ve sampled a few different cuisines, venture out onto the balcony to watch the PEAK 2 PEAK making its record-breaking way across the valley to and from Whistler Mountain.

Christine’s

If you’re looking for a full-service on-mountain dining experience with incredible views, head to Christine’s at the back of the Rendezvous Lodge. Select a glass from their extensive local wine list, while indulging in elevated comfort food like the sablefish massaman curry or braised lamb shoulder rigatoni.

We’re fans of sharing their charcuterie board loaded with cured meats from Squamish, three BC cheeses and house-made chutney, quince and Italian olives. Christine’s is a popular spot, so you need to make a reservation ahead of time (call 604 938 7437).

Crystal Hut

7th Heaven is an aptly-named ski run on Blackcomb Mountain, but heaven for your taste buds can be found at the Crystal Hut, a rustic, log cabin situated at the top of Crystal Chair. They’re known for their buttermilk waffles, which come fully loaded with berry compote, maple syrup and fluffy, whipped cream. There’s also a Funky Monkey and Oreo Cookie option should you want to raise the waffle bar. If you don’t have a sweet tooth they also serve soup and chili.

Sit back on the balcony on a bluebird day while the Whisky Jacks (a.k.a. Gray Jays) flutter around as you enjoy your little slice of heaven, guilt-free . . . after all, you still have to ski down. Side note, although it’s tempting to share your food joy, don’t feed the birds!

Whistler Mountain

Roundhouse Lodge

It’s usually action-packed at the Roundhouse Lodge, the hub for the Whistler Gondola and PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola. With three, open food courts (Pika’s, Mountain Market and Expressway), a vast balcony with exceptional views, Roundhouse Cappuccino Bar, Seppos/Corona Mountain Top Lodge and the option of a full-service dining experience at Steeps Grill & Wine Bar, it’s designed for hungry mountain revellers.

If you got up early and are looking for a caffeine fix with a side of flaky pastry, Roundhouse Cappuccino Bar is the place to head. They also do some great donuts!

Pika’s and Mountain Market are your go-to’s for mac and cheese, chili, breakfast wraps, curry bowls and burgers. We love the authentic Japanese ramen at Elevation Bowls at Expressway. With a choice of pork or tofu, these bowls come packed with umami, that delicious rich, savoury taste that will get you through your next round of ski laps.

Seppo’s/Corona Mountain Top Lodge recently had a reno and it’s a great place to après, especially on a Saturday as they have live music from 1 to 3 PM every Saturday throughout the season with exclusive Corona specials.

Steeps Grill & Wine Bar

Plan to rest your weary ski legs ahead of time by reserving a table at the full-service Steeps Grill & Wine Bar (call to book: 604 905 2379). Try their wine flights, a selection of local wines mostly from the Okanagan region, BC’s version of Napa Valley.

Their menu has a focus on farm-to-table produce, with many of the ingredients grown in the Pemberton Valley, a short drive north of Whistler. We like the Baked Brie with Lillooet honey, maple dried cranberries, salted pecans, pear compete and grilled filone to share, we add prawns to the Pemberton Beet Salad and indulge in the Short Rib Poutine. 

Raven’s / Sḵewḵ’ / Yecwlào7

This is the first indigenous-inspired restaurant on Whistler Mountain at the top of Creekside Gondola. The menu was created in partnership with the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre and Thunderbird Cafe (you should add both of these to your to-visit list).

We’re a big fan of their unique sandwiches with fillings like elk and venison salami, and zucchini and smoked cheddar cheese. Ever had venison chili? Now’s your chance. If you like your greens, try the Candied Salmon Kale Ceasar. Wash that down with coffee, tea, beer or wine, all sourced from Indigenous companies.

Ollie’s

Gourmet grilled cheese? Oh yes, it’s a thing and it’s on Whistler Mountain. Pass by Ollie’s between Garbanzo laps or on your way to Mid Station. Opt for the Classic, a creamy fusion of Canadian medium and old cheddar.

Or, if you’re feeling bold, try the braised pulled pork with melted cheddar or the turkey with sliced apple, cranberry and brie. Grab a picnic table and skier watch!

Horstman Hut

Located at the top of the 7th Heaven area, this mountain hut offers a European-style selection of sausages, sauerkraut, pretzels and mustards. Enjoy the cuckoo clocks while you dip your authentic German weisswurst into sweet mustard or a warm pretzel into Obatzda (Biergarten cheese dip). And it’s good to note that the portions are generous – guten appetite!

FYI, because of the altitude (2,284 metres / 7,494 feet), they don’t have a water tap, but they do have bottled water if you’re desperate.

Chic Pea

You’ll find Chic Pea at the base of the Upper Whiskey Jack run (top of Garbanzo Express) in the Family Zone. The smell of warm cinnamon buns is just incredible and you can even top one with maple bacon!

Chic Pea is also home to the foot-long chili cheese dog and porchetta sandwich, where house-cooked porchetta is served on a ciabatta nun with pesto mayo, Swiss cheese, arugula, roasted peppers and onions.

Whistler Blackcomb On-Mountain Dining Route

We know it’s a lot to digest, so here’s how this works best over the span of an epic day on the mountain:

• Head up the Whistler Village Gondola first thing and grab a cappuccino and breakfast wrap from the Roundhouse Lodge.
• After a few laps, it’s into Chic Pea for a mid-morning cinnamon bun break.
• Then it’s across the PEAK 2 PEAK for some slope fun on Blackcomb Mountain in the Jersey Cream area before grabbing fish and chips or creamy pasta at Glacier Creek.
• For the afternoon, perhaps it’s a Bavarian-styled snack at the Horstman Hut if you ventured over to 7th Heaven or stacked, buttermilk waffles at the Crystal Hut if you went to the Crystal Zone. 
• You could then head back over to Whistler for après at the Umbrella Bar or Seppos!

Originally a Tex-Mex invention, nachos were created in a small Mexican border town by Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya while improvising for some American customers who appeared when his cook was nowhere to be found. That spirit of creativity thrives in Whistler’s nacho offerings, where local spots put unique spins on this classic dish – sometimes even replacing the corn chips and cheese with other delicious ingredients.

Whether you’re after a classic pile of corn chips, cheese and toppings, or you’re curious about a creative twist on an après favourite, here are five spots in Whistler to get your nachos fix. 

For a Lively Atmosphere: Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub

For those looking to round off their day at a high-energy après spot, look no further than the Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub, located right at the base of the Whistler Gondola, and offering daily live music throughout the winter season. It’s a classic Irish-themed pub, with charming details throughout, the whole place having been designed and built in Ireland and transported piece by piece across the pond to Canada. 

The nachos at Dubh Linn Gate feature a generous toppings-to-chip ratio, ensuring every bite is loaded with flavour. A mix of Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese melts perfectly with fresh tomatoes, banana peppers, spring onions, and olives, all served with salsa and sour cream. Optional add-ons include guacamole, Cajun-spiced chicken, and BBQ pulled pork.

For a Refreshing Take on Nachos: The GLC

Also located at the base of the Whistler Gondola, The Garibaldi Lift Company Bar & Grill, simply known as The GLC, offers stellar views and unbeatable après-ski vibes. With its large patio equipped with heaters and propane fires, it’s the perfect spot to watch skiers wrap up their day in winter or bikers take on the trails in summer. And if you’re looking for a fresh spin on nachos, The GLC serves up a dish worth trying: Ahi Poke Tostones.

Created by Chef Jordano Palacia, originally from Brazil, the dish is a delicious reimagining of traditional nachos. Chef Palacia, bored of preparing countless nachos orders, drew inspiration from his roots to craft something extraordinary. Instead of tortilla chips, it starts with crispy plantain chips, a Brazilian snack staple, making a crunchy and interesting base.

The plantains are loaded with a colourful mixture of shredded cabbage, peppers, jalapeños, sweet pineapple, and pickled ginger, creating a delicious medley of tropical flavours. On top, a generous portion of sushi-grade ahi tuna is added, finished with a drizzle of wasabi aioli which adds a subtle kick. To round it out, the dish is served with a complimentary side of guacamole.

This creative spin feels lighter and fresher than traditional nachos – quite literally providing a refreshing take on a well-known après snack. 

For a Touch of Refinement: The Mallard

If you’re in the Upper Village seeking a classy yet casual après spot, the Mallard Lounge in the lobby of Fairmont Chateau Whistler is the place to be.

At the Mallard, you’ll sink into plush armchairs and unwind in a setting that’s both lively and relaxing. Cocktail enthusiasts will particularly appreciate this spot, as the Mallard is renowned for its extensive and expertly crafted cocktail list (check out our feature of the Mallard in the blog Whistler’s Must-Try Winter Cocktails for more details). I opted for a local craft beer, served in a signature Mallard glass featuring artwork of the Fairmont and an ergonomic thumb groove – a thoughtful detail that, honestly, made the beer taste even better.

But while the drinks are important, we’re here to talk about nachos. At the Mallard, you’ll find a classic take on this après staple. I appreciated that they come with complimentary sides of sour cream, salsa, and guacamole, but there is no avocado surcharge here. For an upgrade, you can add spiced beef or chicken, or go all in with the grande size. The layers of mozzarella cheese are evenly levelled throughout the corn chips, and the dish is topped with a fresh pico de gallo. Olives make an appearance throughout, and jalapeños add a zesty kick. 

For Something Different: Stinky’s on the Stroll

Stinky’s on the Stroll offers a casual, cozy sports bar vibe in Whistler Village North, just a short stroll from Whistler Olympic Plaza. The walls and roof are decked out with more sports paraphernalia than you can count – flags and jerseys from nearly every Canadian team and many American ones too. A favourite hangout for locals, Stinky’s also boasts a solid lineup of local craft beers and tempting après plates, including their Tatchos – tater tots reinvented as nachos.

This dish puts a fun spin on the classic nachos formula, swapping out tortilla chips for a base of crispy tater tots. Topped with tomatoes, black olives, banana peppers, mixed cheeses, and green onions, it comes with sides of salsa and sour cream for dipping, and optional add ons including smoked meat, roasted or jerk chicken, pulled pork or donair meat. The plate may look smaller than a traditional mound of nachos, but don’t be fooled – the hearty potato base makes it surprisingly filling. It’s a satisfying and delicious twist, and to be honest, who doesn’t love fried potatoes?

For meat lovers: Dusty’s Bar & BBQ

If you find yourself  in Creekside and you are hungry for some après fare, Dusty’s Bar & BBQ is located at the base of Creekside Gondola, and it is a legendary spot that features regular live music, including performances by the iconic Hairfarmers. Dusty’s specializes in smoked meat and their Famous BBQ Nachos showcase this expertise, loaded with smoked brisket, pulled pork, and BBQ sauce.

I opted for the classic nachos, and they truly live up to their name. The Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese combo was perfectly melted, with some crispy edges that added a satisfying touch. Toppings included the usual suspects: jalapeños, olives, and banana peppers, all complemented by a side of spicy salsa fresca and sour cream.
