We had a very lack lustre experience here. We went for my 5 year old’s birthday celebration and were not acknowledged at all for it. Perhaps they were short staffed but there was a lot of waiting around, awkward moments and empty water glasses. We ordered beers but the server just left a tall boy can and an empty glass for us to pour ourselves. For such an expensive meal we expected more. The chef was very nice but his skills were very limited. The food was perfectly cooked and tasted good, so no complaints here. We honestly had a better experience at Mongolie Grill for a quarter of the price and a much better show and service.

The sesame dressing on the salad is wonderful, definitely the best thing here. The miso soup, tempura, and steak was quite tasty as well.
Everything else was okay and the place is very pricey for what you get. Sushi rolls, rice and other hibachis were nothing special.

Below average for sure. The food was very bland, the steak was overcooked, and the cooked bean sprouts they gave at the end was pretty unappetizing. Moreover, the "show" felt a bit rushed.
We were there to celebrate a special occasion, but after dining here, I felt the celebration would have been better elsewhere.
I wouldn't recommend Teppan Village.

Great experience. Nice low lighting and chill vibe to along with the experience of your cook making the meal right in front of you. Super good vibes and delicious. On the pricey end.

The following are reprinted comments from other customers:
Worst teppanyaki restaurant!
The service was awful, the waitress did not want to be working and had zero customer service skills. They wanted you in and out as soon as possible but of course, expected a big tip.
They didn't even let you finish your food and you already had the bill in front of you.
Everything was way overpriced, tasteless and not worth it at all. I've been to many teppanyaki places and this one is the worst so far. If you wanted the rice prepared in front of you, it would've been an extra charge, something that's always included in every single other teppanyaki restaurant I've been.
The chef was very friendly but still not worth the over $180 CAD dollars for 2 people for less than 40 minutes.
I definitely do not recomend this place. Safe your money and go to any other restaurant in Whistler. It would be cheaper and I'm sure it will taste better.
