We were so grateful to be assigned to Marvin. He provided excellent service, was incredibly helpful in our decision-making, and brought great energy to the table. The food was absolutely delicious. The cheese bread and Oysters Rockefeller are must-try appetizers. I’d highly recommend the Gorgonzola steak for main course.
The service throughout was very professional, and I really appreciated how the team worked together. Everyone seemed well-supported by their managers. The premises felt noticeably cozier than other Hy’s locations I’ve visited (and the others are already quite cozy).
Thank you Marvin, Zvonimir, and Michael for making our dinner memorable.

The service was amazing. However, the food was not impressive. For the prices they charge, I would expect a bit more. I ordered the New York strip, and all I got was a steak and mash potatoes, no sauce, and no side veggies. No seasonings. I would like to note that the Cesar salad and the banana Foster sides were wonderful, and how they prepared the dishes in front of us was really great and entertaining. Overall, the experience was good.

A Christmas Eve dinner with our daughter was made more memorable with a dinner experience at Hy’s Steakhouse in Whistler.
Starting with French onion soup, a warm and comforting introduction to the menu.
My tenderloin filet was cooked to perfection with added vegetables, creativity cooked.
To finish, a tangy flavoursome Key Lime pie. Great selection of wines, reasonably priced by glass topped off a memorable evening. Brian our waiter, was amazing. A cozy place to dine on a cold winters evening. Will definitely be back.

I recently visited Hy’s in Whistler for my birthday dinner during a weekend getaway. Having dined at the Vancouver location many times—and always leaving impressed—I was excited to experience what this location had to offer.
Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations.
Ambience and Decor
The decor felt dated, and the atmosphere didn’t give the high-end, sophisticated feel I’ve come to expect from Hy’s. Instead, it leaned more toward casual dining, which surprised me. While everyone has their own preferences, I was hoping for a cozy, moody vibe similar to the Vancouver location.
The Food
We started with the classic cheese toast—a must at Hy’s—but this time it didn’t quite hit the mark.
Next was the tableside Caesar salad. While the flavors were good, the presentation felt bland and lacked excitement. That said, it was still tasty.
The tableside steak tartare was a highlight for me. The presentation was enjoyable, and the dish itself was quite good—I’d definitely order it again.
We also shared the 20oz ribeye steak, which was cooked to perfection. It was 100% on point and easily the standout of the evening.
My wife opted for the nourish bowl (a vegan dish). While the curry flavor was bold, and I personally didn’t mind it, the dish felt underwhelming overall. For $37, the value just wasn’t there, especially considering where we were dining.
Service
The bright spot of the night was our server. She was friendly, talkative, and really helped make the experience more enjoyable.
Overall
While a few dishes were good, the meal as a whole was disappointing for a birthday dinner. Your birthday only comes once a year, and if I had the chance to do it over, I’d choose somewhere else.

My youngest son loves going Hy's for the ice cream sundae and a chance to help the server make the Caesar salad. This is our third year in a row. Thanks for making it special, Hy's!
