Public Transit to Alpha Lake

Take the #10, #20 or #21 BC Transit bus south to Creekside or Bayshores, and walk approximately 5-10 minutes on the Valley Trail to the lake.

Nita Lake

Public Transit to Nita Lake

Take the #10, #20 or #25 BC Transit bus south to the first stop or third in Creekside, and walk approximately 5 minutes on the Valley Trail to the lake via the underpass, or past Nita Lake Lodge.

Alta Lake

A large lake that stretches between Creekside and the Village with several parks around its borders and plenty of room for watersports and the Whistler Sailing Association. View Alta Lake in Google Maps

Please note there is very limited parking at all parks on Alta Lake. Consider walking, biking, taking transit or using a hotel shuttle to visit the parks. Pack out what you pack in. Food items, recycling, drink containers and wrappers must be disposed of in a secure, wildlife-proof container. If bins are full, items must be taken with you when you leave the area. Lakeside Park

Lakeside Park is a beautiful beach park located on Lakeside Road on the shores of Alta Lake.

Public Transit to Lakeside Park at Alta Lake

Take the #10, #20, #25 BC Transit bus south to the Alta Vista stop and walk approximately 5 minutes to the lake.

Rainbow Park

Rainbow Park is located on the west side of Whistler Valley. It's a pleasant 20-minute bike ride along the Valley Trail from the Village, just off Alta Lake Road. Rainbow Park has lots of space and was the site of the historical Rainbow Lodge built by Whistler pioneer Myrtle Philip.

  • Dogs also have access to swimming dock

Wayside Park

This smaller park is close to the Creekside neighbourhood of Whistler.

  • Accessible ramping down to the Valley trail and to lower grass (the slope exceeds 6%)

  • Speed limit 12 km/hr
  • Must have a life jacket, bailer, whistle and flashlight if on the lake after sunset

Public Transit to Wayside Park at Alta Lake

Take the #20 or #21 BC Transit bus south to the Nordic Drive stop and walk over the overpass to the Valley Trail south.

Lost Lake

Off-Leash Dog Area – Canine Cove

  • Designated off-leash area with a sandy beach, 400 metres to the north of main beach
  • Dogs are not permitted on Lost Lake beach

Public Transit to Lost Lake Park

Take the free Lost Lake Shuttle #8 to Lost Lake Park. Buses run daily from June 15 through Labour Day (September 2), 11 AM to 7 PM. For Park Shuttle times, days and stop locations, visit whistler.ca/parkshuttle.

Green Lake

Boating Regulations

  • Sections of the lake are limited to a speed limit of 10 km/hr
  • Towing restricted to certain areas

Public Transit to Green Lake

Take the #30 or #32 BC Transit bus north to Rainbow Estates or Emerald Estates stops, and walk approximately 5 minutes to the lake.
