Activity Information

A truly Canadian adventure, dog sledding originated approximately 4,000 years ago. Researchers suggest that life in Northern Canada may never have been possible without sled dogs.

These Arctic dogs have been bred over centuries to withstand cold temperatures and endure pulling sleds over distances of up to 130 kilometres (80 miles) a day. They may reach speeds of up to 32 km/h (20 m.p.h).

Trained from an early age to run with the pack, sled dogs truly enjoy the activity and can’t wait until the musher hooks them up to the gang-lines.
