MSAA: Intro to Backcountry This is a fun and educational day in the backcountry adjacent to Whistler Blackcomb. Among the many skills you will be introduced to are basic avalanche rescue, terrain analysis, track setting, uphill and downhill skiing technique, route finding, tree skiing and trip planning. From $189 per person
Extremely Canadian: Intro to Backcountry In a full day of mind-blowing guided backcountry skiing, telemarking or snowboarding, ACMG Guides will share techniques and tactics to hone your skiing, boost your safety knowledge, and heighten your awareness in big mountain terrain. From $319 per person
MSAA: Private Backcountry Ski Touring & Splitboarding Enjoy awesome backcountry skiing and splitboarding around the Whistler Blackcomb ski area. The big-mountain backcountry outside of the ski area offers a multitude of bowls, glaciers and gladed runs to choose from. Geared for those with previous backcountry experience. Participants must be comfortable and confident in intermediate terrain in a variety of snow conditions. We run our backcountry tours at a maximum of 6:1 (client to guide) ratio. From $799 per group

Working with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG), let us help you plan your day to make sure every moment is exactly what you were looking for in the backcountry. Extremely Canadian: AST 1 Our Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 course (AST 1+) provides an entry-level decision-making framework for recreational skiers and snowboarders in winter backcountry avalanche terrain. This comprehensive 2.5 day program is a blend of practical field days with indoor theory and review based on curriculum as established by the Avalanche Canada. Available on select dates. Extremely Canadian: AST 2 The Avalanche Skills Training Level 2 course is designed for the serious and experienced winter backcountry user. This course expands on the theories and principles established at the AST 1+ level course or those who already have a solid understanding of snow avalanche principles. The program incorporates extensive practical field sessions in real avalanche terrain implementing a systematic approach for assessing and evaluating the potential avalanche hazard.
