What a phenomenal time we had! I spoke with Martin, who booked us the trip. He was very kind and accommodating.
We did the Alta Lake nature pedal and paddle tour. We had the pleasure of being guided by Zen, a very knowledgeable and friendly young man. He is born and raised in Whistler and his family owns and runs the business. We will definitely be returning to do the River Of Golden Dreams tour. This tour is a must do if you want to learn about Whistler, see it’s beauty and get some exercise!!

The best experience one can have!
TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!!!
From the staff to the tours they provided, can't wait to do it again with them.
My family loved it and we loved it.
The tour guide was super knowledgeable and helpful and friendly! Can't say anything else but thanks for giving us the time of our life

It was on a perfectly gorgeous day that we did the Green Lake Kayak Paddle Tour. Kate ,our guide , helped us launch the kayaks on the last stretch of the River of Golden Dreams. After crossing a few beaver dams we were on Green Lake. Weather and wind conditions were as perfect as could be. Our tour also had a half hour walk in the woods by the side of the lake where we saw the old logging settlement and learnt about the flora of the local ecosystem .

We did the Green Lake paddle, and it was amazing! That scenery is stunning.
Without any previous canoeing experience, we were not completely sure what to expect. But the staff really know when to help you out, but also when to let you figure it out on your own, to really get a feeling for it (which feels really rewarding)!
You'll get picked up in Whistler village and driven out to the starting point. There, you'll get a life vest, a dry bag, and instructions on how you need to paddle. They'll help you into your kayak or canoe, and from there you just go with the flow (literally).
The staff will also take photos of you and send them to you afterwards (no extra charge), so that you can focus on paddling.
The tour (at least the one we did (Green Lake)) is also a bit flexible timewise; meaning that if you're a newbie, you'll be fine to take it slow, but if you travel within an experienced group you could also decide to take a trip down the far edge of the lake.
At the end you'll get picked up again and brought back to Whistler.
Shoutout to our guide Hayley, you were amazing!

Ever feel like the challenges of life are closing in on you? Sometimes it just feels like it is only a matter of time before you succumb to those pressures and demands. It feels not so much a question of if, but when, you’ll finally be consumed by them.
And then, often by accident, life takes an unexpected turn and you are provided an opportunity to choose to push the eject button (that’s been right in front of longer than you realized) and propel yourself into what feels like an alternative universe. A place that allows you to unplug from the breakneck pace of today’s society, take a deep breath, and finally linger in the bliss of just being present. No chirping cell phones, no calendar reminders, no bills to receive, no health concerns to ponder, and no need to make plans for the future. An all too brief respite from what emotionally entangles you and seeks to rob you of your peace and your purpose.
Without planning it, we fell into such a rabbit hole while floating down the River of Golden Dreams (its actual name). A little rowing (and a lot of just floating) later, we arrived at Green Lake and just allowed the wind to help us drift across glacial waters so green we felt like they can be seen from outer space. We dipped our hands into that water, splashed it around a bit, and pondered just how much time and attention it voluntarily sacrifices to the stresses of today. It whispered its response back to us, “None.”
So what to do if Green Lake doesn’t happen to be in your backyard, and yet an escape is exactly what you need right about now? Good question! We’re on this journey right alongside of you, so while we pursue our “Green Lake escape”, we wish you good fortune in discovering yours!
(In keeping with Canadian tradition, we were careful to pack an “Oh Henry!” bar as part of the emergency rations for us and our tour guide Peter.)
And that’s…Henry’s Take.
