Great food and service. This resturant is inside the Fairmount Hotel. It is famous for the duck …. And it was very very good. Appetizers were great and tasty, only downside the burrata was not as expected. Chowder soup was great and full of seafood, definitely recommended. Much better then the Boston Chowder ( and I live in Boston). The duck plate was great and loved it.

I celebrated my birthday here and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, and the service of our server was top-notch, we loved our server Topher. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience. The only downside was host team. Daytime host had hard time looking for my reservation, said there was no booking under my name and it's strange, management had to find my name on the system for her. Evening host couldn't accommodate a cup of milk for baby, (I didn't ask for free milk, asked for room charge with any fee, explained our milk at the room went bad and in-room dining was too busy when hotel was full-house during the family long weekend Friday night, the host asked if we were hotel guests (we were, and we just left the restaurant 30 minutes before) and said they do not take out, sent us to the lounge to try. I had to sit in the lounge with a crying baby after 10pm, got a cup of milk after 20 minutes thank God. Why was that hard to get a cup of milk while the restaurant was still in service? Wondered why she asked me if I was a hotel guest if she couldn't accommodate any way. It's humanity.

Update December 2024: We booked our family dinner once again at the Wildflower a year later and we had the best time! Lisa Marie was such a lovely server and paid attention to every detail. The set menu we ordered off of had some great choices and all the food was timed perfectly well, even with 14 of us! We’ll be back!

Emma and the team at The Wildflower was absolutely superb! We ordered off the group menu for our family dinner and was very impressed by the service (simply THE best from the reception to dinner to afterwards when we obtained a pass to park free - note this is only for dinner at The Wildflower and not Portobello). The food was fresh, hot and delicious and the 3 virgin Caesars we ordered, each with modifications, was the tastiest (they don’t water it down). The restaurant has cozy lighting but it’s not too dark, and the high ceilings and decor is grand and welcoming. This is definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Whistler, and they never fail to disappoint! We have also tried their buffet breakfast and it’s amazing too!

My husband and I came here with our baby for brunch. We often stay at The Fairmont Olympic hotel in Seattle and are big fans of the Fairmont accommodations and dining. The food was excellent! But I have to warn you about the secret pricing. Listed on the menu it says the price for the buffet is: $43 Per Person | $22 Children 6 to 12. Though it doesn’t say it outright, because there is NO PRICE listed for children younger than 6 it STRONGLY IMPLIES that they can eat the buffet food for free. This is NOT TRUE - they ALSO CHARGE $22 for children 5 and under for the buffet and just don’t tell you. We had to pay $22 for our 15-month old baby to eat a half of a strawberry and the white part of a hard boiled egg. I was really really surprised and annoyed. The woman working there explained it was only free for kids 5 and under if they were hotel guests. Ok… maybe that’s why we were confused because we normally stay at the Fairmont and this time we weren’t? But no one ever told us that, and it doesn’t say that on the menu. We argued for some time about the unfairness of it and asked her to point out where it said that on the menu, but at the end of the day it was too late, she had already eaten the buffet. So if you have a baby that doesn’t eat a lot of solid food yet I would make sure NOT to do the buffet, it is outrageously expensive for them while if you just order normally then they can just pick a few things off your plate. It is a bummer and felt quite petty to me that they would have their policy like this, but hopefully I can help some other families avoid being surprised by this like we were!
