Would this experience be suggested for young children, elderly people or for people with reduced mobility?

Summer - The entire experience takes place outside within a trail network which is partially leveled but not asphalted. These paths are not recommended for people with reduced mobility since they consist of several steep staircases, that are both up and down. Using a baby carrier is recommended although strollers are not recommended including the off-road/sports models.

Winter - The trail is mostly flat with one staircase, however trail conditions will vary depending on the weather so snow and ice may be possible.

How long does it take to walk through Vallea Lumina?

Vallea Lumina is a 1.5 km trail through an old-growth forest. It takes approximately 50 - 80 minutes to walk through the show.

Are restrooms available at the entrance or during the journey?

Restrooms are available at the venue before you begin the experience as well as after you complete it.

Is it possible to eat on site?

The Cougar Cafe, an on-site snack bar, will allow you to discover several local product flavours and is located at the entrance area.

How do I get to the Vallea Lumina venue?

Head north on Highway 99 from Whistler Village for about 10 minutes. Watch for The Adventure Group sign at the start of Sixteen Mile Creek Forest Service Road—on the left side of the highway near the north end of Green Lake. Turn left and follow the road up to Cougar Mountain Basecamp.

Is a shuttle available to get to Vallea Lumina?

Yes. Vallea Lumina offers a complimentary round-trip shuttle between the Gateway Loop in Whistler Village and Cougar Mountain Basecamp, located just 15 minutes north of the Village. Shuttle spots must be reserved in advance by booking a Vallea Lumina ticket that includes shuttle service. Each shuttle seats up to 24 guests and spaces fill quickly, especially during peak times.

Yes, but it’s limited. PayByPhone parking is in effect starting June 1, 2025. You can use the PayByPhone app, access it through your browser, or ask our Base Experience Team for help once you arrive. Whenever possible, we recommend taking a taxi or the shuttle—it’s the easiest way to go!
