Whistler Longboard Festival — July 12 to 15, 2012
Set at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, this gnarly 1.6 kilometre road features a 1, 000 foot vertical drop as riders grip and drift through seven 180 degree hairpins and 12 corners. Imagine snowboard cross meets the Formula 1 of skateboarding as 4-man heats rip down the mountain.
This year, the Whistler longboard festival doubles in size with a 1-day event at Whistler Olympic Park on July 12 and a 3-day event at the Whistler Sliding Centre from July 13 to 15.
Come check out the speed, the crashes, and the passes as 160 international racers battle it out for the $5,000 cash podium.
