As a Canadian National Freestyle Team member Whistler skier Simon d’Artois spends a lot of time in the halfpipe.
“I guess the average is about 20 runs through the pipe each day,” he says, “and i get about 100 ski days a year….so yeah, like 2000 pipe runs each season.”
It’s paid off though. Simon brought home the gold medal at the 2015 Winter X-Games and is winding down his season back home in Whistler for the World Ski & Snowboard Festival, where he intends to compete in all three ski competitions: halfpipe, slopestyle and big air.
The Insider caught up with Simon d’Artois for a couple days of lapping the Blackcomb terrain park.
