Whistler Spring Pow with Garywayne Skis

Some work days are better than ever and this morning The Insider was lucky enough to sneak up Blackcomb Mountain for some beauty spring pow turns with our good bud Sheldon Steckman, the founder/director/owner of Garywayne Skis.

The snowphone was only calling for 3cm of fresh pow in the alpine but we heard the ski patrol blasting avalanche control early in the morning and decided to go up for a rip. A night of winds had blown a bit more than 3cm into the 7th Heaven trees and the sun cracked through for a great morning of wintery bliss. Mid-mountain groomers were fast and the pow up top was blissful. The moral of the day was, “You won’t know, if you don’t go.”

Check out this other Insider video from a few years ago if you want to know more about Sheldon’s handmade, super-innovative Garywayne Skis. And of course, you can always find out everything you want to know about Whistler, skiing or otherwise, over at Whistler.com
