VIDEO: Whistler’s Deep Winter Photo Challenge 2014

Last week’s Arc’teryx Deep Winter Photo Challenge saw six professional photographers unleashed on Whistler and Blackcomb to shoot and edit together a 3-5 minute slide show in just 72 hours. Competitors in the 8th annual event had to stay within regular ski hill boundaries and operating hours but otherwise there was no limits on what they could create.

Insider editor Feet Banks chased all six teams around for two sunny days in order to get a sense of the good times and challenges that come with trying to produce 50-70 slideshow-quality photographs in just three days. Feet got to hang out with ace shooters Nicolas Teichrob, Erin Hogue, Chris Brown, Zoya Lynch, Cameron Hunter and Jason Hummel and his video is above.

After the show, one photo from each photographer was posted online for the People’s Choice Award of $500 cash and a day of Heli Skiing. The people have spoken and Cameron Hunter is the winner with this shot of Wiley Tesseo ripping pow above the clouds on Whistler Mountain. Congratulations Cam.
