From vine to table, the world of wine is simply fascinating and it’s one of the key themes at Cornucopia, presented by BlueShore Financial. From November 8 – 18, 2018 the festival of food and drink will attract an exceptional number of wineries, vitners and industry experts to the mountains for 11 days of seminars and social gatherings. Whether you are an avid consumer or in the business of creating and serving wine Whistler is the place to sharpen your palate, network with like-minded professionals and find new and exciting wines to share.

We’ve gathered together a few of the events from the Cornucopia schedule that might appeal to those who love a drop of wine more than the average person – explore them all and book tickets well in advance to ensure your seat at the table.

WSET Level 1 Course
Want to take your wine appreciation up a notch? The Wine and Spirit Education Trust is coming to Whistler offering two levels of certification to further your taste education. Instruction on tasting technique and wine fundamentals will appeal to serious wine-lovers, collectors and those who dream of a career as sommelier. Registration includes extras such as ISO certified glasses and a free ticket to the Crush Grand Tasting.

Cornucopia Trade Only Tasting
Do you work in hospitality or a wine related field? This event offers an industry-only tasting experience for managers, bartenders, sommeliers, wine directors and more featuring exclusive wines not poured during any other Cornucopia event.

Crush Grand Tasting with New Sommelier Tours
The signature tasting event of the festival is a fantastic place to meet and mingle with wine lovers and friends. Insider tip: Early entry ensures plenty of time to work your way around the tables. For those interested in an expert opinion, the new Sommelier Tours are small groups guided by local sommeliers for an intelligently curated selection of the most interesting wines on offer.

Pip has somehow worked her way around from being a snow-and-bike bum to holding a real job while also being outdoors as much as possible.
