“Every day feels more complete when you’ve been on your bike.” — Robin O’Neill

Some people move to Whistler to ski, some move here to bike – welcome to the MTB life. Pro photographer Robin O’Neill learned to do both right here, gaining a deep appreciation of the beautiful landscape and the people who live to explore it. Here’s her take on Whistler’s biking culture in a special Freehub Magazine edit, featuring footage from the Whistler Bike Park and one of our favourite loamy trails – Micro Climate.

Thanks to local riders Jesse Melamed, Dylan Wolsky and Sarah Leishman for showing us some Coast Mountain flow plus the fabulous folk at Freehub for this edit – you can see more of the Snapshot Series here.

If you want a taste of Whistler’s bike culture at its most concentrated, make sure you get here for ThinkBike Whistler (formerly OuterBike) early season or Crankworx Whistler mid-summer. For everything else on two wheels hit up Whistler.com

Pip has somehow worked her way around from being a snow-and-bike bum to holding a real job while also being outdoors as much as possible. She’s collected scars, bikes for (almost) every occasion, a small trail dog and a love of craft beer plus a rudimentary understanding of skiing, snowboarding, sketching, and the art of chairlift conversations. She currently believes a combination of gravity, snow, dirt and rad people are what make Whistler tick but investigations are ongoing.
