Cornucopia Beer EventsDARBY MAGILL PHOTOS

It’s no secret that beer and mountains go hand in hand. The Pacific Northwest is a hotspot of beer brewing and consumption with microbreweries found around every corner, hops farms making a comeback and more amazing beers than one can possibly hope to drink in a lifetime.

Here in Whistler beer is often the drink of choice at après-ski, with a delightful range of beers available on tap on patios and in cozy pubs. The resort boasts not one but three breweries – Whistler Brewing Company, Coast Mountain Brewing and The BrewHouse – meaning there’s always a local taste on tap somewhere nearby and the Whistler Village Beer Festival draws an eclectic mix of breweries and beer fans each September.

It’s no surprise that every year the selection of events that include or focus on beer keeps growing at Cornucopia, presented by BlueShore Financial. Take a look at the tastings, seminars and parties below and if you plan on sampling, be quick – with a week to go until the festival starts events are selling out fast.

Pip has somehow worked her way around from being a snow-and-bike bum to holding a real job while also being outdoors as much as possible. She’s collected scars, bikes for (almost) every occasion, a small trail dog and a love of craft beer plus a rudimentary understanding of skiing, snowboarding, sketching, and the art of chairlift conversations. She currently believes a combination of gravity, snow, dirt and rad people are what make Whistler tick but investigations are ongoing.
