  • Reminiscing as we check out the Olympic-anniversary events at the Whistler Public Library and Whistler Museum, including their exhibit “Building the Spirit: Whistler’s Volunteers of the 2010 Games”
  • Listening to the mandolin, mandocello fiddle, guitar and bass combination of the Andrew Collins Trio, part of Whistler Arts Live! at the Maury Young Arts Centre on Wednesday, February 5
  • Checking out the new, special exhibit “The Extended Moment: Fifty Years of Collecting Photography” at the Audain Art Museum, which opens on February 8. It explores the development of photography, featuring 70 photographs from the 1850s to 2000s
  • Heading to Mountain Galleries (at the Fairmont) on Friday, February 14 from 4 PM – 6 PM to meet Shannon Ford the artist behind their latest solo exhibitionBear in Mind” and to Whistler Contemporary Art Gallery (at the Four Seasons) to meet internationally-renowned artist Jane Waterous at her Artist Reception on Sunday, February 16 from 5 – 8 PM
  • Cheering on the photographer teams at the Uprising Photo Showdown at the Fairmont on Saturday, February 22

Having Family Fun

You’ll find us:

  • Getting into the Olympic spirit at Family Après (3 – 6 PM at Olympic Plaza) which has a Games twist to it over the anniversary celebrations
  • Heading to the library for some Olympic-themed family time. Official Olympic mascot, Quatchi is making an appearance on Wednesday, February 12 from noon to 1 PM and Juno award-winning musicians Bobs & Lolo are back on Friday, February 21 from 4 – 5 PM. There are also Olympic-themed story times and craft sessions planned too
  • Taking the kids to the Cypress Point Winter Carnival for snow sculpting, shinny hokey, live painting and sing-a-longs at The Point Artist-Run Centre on Sunday, February 16 from noon until 4 PM. There’s also a dinner and show evening event with improv comedy starting at 6 PM
  • Taking advantage of the 50% off deal at Whistler Olympic Park and other special discounts for BC’s Family Day on February 17

  • Enjoying the talents of Vancouver-based Chef David Hawksworth when he takes over Steep’s Grill (Whistler Mountain) on Wednesday, February 8

  • Whistler Blackcomb morning upload starts at 8:30 AM with a final upload from the village at 3.30 PM. Fresh Tracks runs daily from 7.15  AM
  • Play safe in the deep snow – always ski and ride with a buddy and stay within eye sight and ear shot while in the trees
  • It’s winter conditions on the roads, brush up on winter driving tips or consider booking a shuttle bus to Whistler
