Skiing the largest mountain resort in North America is awesome and no one in their right mind would complain about over 8,171 acres of terrain and 5,280 vertical feet of ski hill to play with. But the truth is, all those deep turns, speedy groomers, fluffy pillows and stomped landings can wear a person down. “Jelly legs” is not an uncommon affliction and while après is certainly a great and soothing remedy sometimes it’s good to take things a step further and really decompress.

Sometimes it’s good to pamper yourself, or in this case, get pampered. Insider editor Feet Banks happened to have two passes to the Avello Spa, one of Whistler’s best and biggest, so he took to the streets in search of worthy recipients. Besides making someone’s day, Feet jumped in on the action and tried out the Thai Stem Pedicure. Because when your name is Feet, you kinda gotta….

Feet Banks moved to Whistler at age 12 so his parents could live the dream and ski as much as possible. He ended up living it too. After leaving home Feet did a few good stints in warmer climates and 4 years of writing school before returning to the mountains to make ski movies, hammer out a journalism career and avoid the 9-5 lifestyle as long as possible. He’s been a hay farmer, a hole digger, a magazine editor and has a jump named after him on Blackcomb Mountain, Feet’s Air. It’s tiny.
