There’s never been a better time to experience the Whistler dream!
Prices comparable to 2008/2009 season
+ Accommodation available
+ No crowds
+ All Olympic construction completed
= One Fantastic Ski Holiday!
While the whole world will be tuned into Whistler in February, 2010, the months before and after the Games provide an ideal time to experience everything magical about Whistler without the crowds and Olympic flurry.
Whistler’s Olympic venues are fully complete and all construction has ended. During the 2009/2010 season, more than 90 per cent of Whistler Blackcomb’s terrain will be accessible to the public. Blackcomb Mountain will be using just one run for Games-related training and only Whistler Mountain’s Creekside will be used for the alpine skiing events. During construction of the Creekside course, underpass tunnels were created to allow for uninterrupted public use during the competitions. All of the fantastic winter activities that Whistler is famous for are business as usual. From dog sledding and heli-skiing to snowmobile tours and sleigh rides, everything you’ve dreamt about in a winter holiday is ready and waiting for you in Whistler.
Whistler’s prices are comparable to the 2008/2009 season and the great value you’ve come to expect from this world-class resort has not changed. Accommodation availability is plentiful in December, January, March and April. Book your dream holiday before the Games and experience what the world will see in February, or come in March and take in some Paralympic events while you’re here. Spectator tickets for the Paralympic Games start at just $25 and you can still share the excitement and get up close and personal with athletes from around the world.
With the launch of the record-setting PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola in December, 2008, a whole new world of possibilities opens up for skiers and snowboarders. Ski both Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains in one day without ever touching the ground. The gondola links both mountains at their peaks and is just an 11 minute ride across the sky. Two cabins have glass floors for a bird’s eye view of the stunning Fitzsimmons Valley below. This is an incredible experience you can only find in Whistler.
