Travel Smart - Know Before You Go
The Sea to Sky Highway is a breathtaking journey of ocean and mountain vistas, and the ONLY direct route to Whistler from Vancouver. Whether you are staying overnight or just coming up for the day to ski, snowboard or see Paralympic events, you need to know the best way to get here.
If you are coming from Vancouver:
To reach the Whistler Paralympic Park (biathlon and cross-country skiing, 15 km south of Whistler Village) and Whistler Creekside (alpine skiing, 4 km south of Whistler Village) venues, spectators can drive to the Whistler Paralympic Park spectator parking lot at the base of Callaghan Valley Road. From there, take the designated, free and fully accessible shuttles to the venues. Do not park along Callaghan Valley Road as strict towing policies will be enforced. You can also catch a bus from Vancouver to Whistler Village. Directions from Whistler Village are below.
If you are staying in Whistler:
Your Paralympic event ticket gets you on Whistler's transit service for free on the day of the event.
- Whistler Paralympic Park: Walk or take Whistler Transit to Day Lot 4 and hop on the Whistler Paralympic Park Express to the venue. Spectators with specific needs with be dropped off at the venue entrance and from there will board the accessible shuttle, which stops approximately 50-75 metres from the spectator plaza of the stadium.
- Whistler Creekside: Take Whistler Transit Bus #1, #2 or #10 from Gondola Transit Exchange in Whistler Village or from additional bus stops along Highway 99. The accessible shuttle will pick up spectators with specific needs from the transportation drop-off points, and bring them to the accessible entrance located approximately 40 metres before the accessible seating area.
- Whistler Medals Plaza: Follow the Village Stroll or take Whistler Transit to Whistler Medals Plaza. An accessible viewing area is available at this venue.
