Whistler Blackcomb Skiing
Spring skiing and snowboarding is now closed for the season but if you can’t bear to put those skis or snowboard away yet, Blackcomb Mountain’s Horstman Glacier opens for summer skiing and riding starting June 20 until July 26. There’s a wide variety of summer Glacier Camps available for all ages and abilities. Add lift tickets to your accommodation booking and we’ll deliver them right to your room free of charge!
Pristine powder, spectacular terrain, the freshest tracks
If
acres and acres (more than 8,100!) of lush, snow-covered terrain is your idea
of paradise, then grab your skis and find your bliss. With an annual average
of 33 feet (10 metres) of snowfall, 200+
trails, more than 17 alpine bowls filled with powder, 38 lifts, amazing
terrain parks, four glaciers and a one mile vertical rise of corduroy, chutes
and pillow lines, there’s a reason Whistler is consistently voted the
number one ski resort in North America. Add in a vibrant pedestrian-only alpine
village, luxurious accommodation, divine dining and
lively après options and you’ll want
every day to be a snow day.
Need lessons?
Whistler Blackcomb offers a variety of instruction from
group lessons to clinics and specialty camps. Whether you’re strapping
on skis for the first time or perfecting your black diamond skills, classes
are always friendly and encouraging. Select classes are 40 per cent
off during Discover Whistler Days:
- November 27 to December 19, 2008,
- January 5 to 23, 2009,
- February 23 to Match 13, 2009 and
- April 20 to 26, 2009
Take a break from downhill and try cross-country skiing through Whistler’s three serene cross-country locations. The scenery is second to none and no waiting in lift lines!
Want More?
When it comes to skiing, you’ll always get more in Whistler. More deep and steep alpine bowls, more smooth corduroy cruisers, more runs from green to double black diamond and more high-speed lifts, including the brand new record-breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.
When the sun sets and you’ve taken off your skis for the day, enjoy more fun in the Village with a staggering selection of restaurants, bars, lounges, pubs, spas, shops and activities.
Telemark Skiing
Telemark skiing is a back-to-basics hybrid between cross-country and downhill skiing with a distinguishing knee-bending movement. Graceful and challenging, it allows you to experience the mountains the way they were intended. It is a daring alternative to regular mountain sports. Rent equipment, or take a lesson and learn an impressive new skill. Whistler Blackcomb offers private, one-on-one telemark instruction daily.
