Pangea Day is a global event bringing the world together through film.
On May 10, 2008, locations in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro will be linked via satellite for a live program of powerful films, live music, and visionary speakers. The entire program will be broadcast - in seven languages - to millions of people worldwide through the internet, television, and mobile phones. In Whistler, the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre will host a public broadcast of the event in the Sea to Sky Ballroom 'B', starting at 11 a.m.

Spirit Pole Tour

The Cowichan 2008 North American Indigenous Games Spirit Pole Tour is a unique project that will see a totem pole take shape as it visits more than 45 communities over a 13-week period. In each community, carver Carey Newman will invite people to try their hand at carving the log, while learning about traditional carving methods and Aboriginal history.

Whistler Mountain Bike Park Opening Day

The Whistler Mountain Bike Park opens for its 10th year, beginning weekends from Saturday May 17 - Sunday October 12. The Park will open daily from June 14 - August 31. Hours of operations are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours running 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
