Whistler opens its arms to Mexicans again for the 2007/08 winter season with the 2nd Annual Mexican Whistler Ski Week, featuring special ski training days and races, exclusive shopping events, group dinners and apr�s ski parties, as well as the 2nd Annual Mexican Whistler Ski Cup. The weeklong event is organized in partnership with Tourism Whistler, Whistler Blackcomb, Tourism British Columbia and the Canadian Tourism Commission along with key Mexican tour operator, New Millennium Tours. As part of Celebration 2010, Lowe will be reading an excerpt from his new book and presenting a slideshow of photographs from various alpine ascents, and rock and ice climbing. Lowe's lengthy list of backcountry successes include hundreds of alpine-style first-ascents, early ascents in big-wall and free climbing, as well as the creation of the Lowe routes in the Western US that have inspired a new generation of winter climbing aficionados.

Nix is multidisciplinary work, involving theatre artists, glass blowers, a composer, designers working with new technology and unique materials, and five hearty actors. The February 2008 event in Whistler will be a workshop as part of Celebration 2010 and preparations for a premiere in Calgary in 2009 and Whistler as part of the Olympic Arts Festival in 2010. Get ready for not only one, but two fantastic new snow sculpting creations coming to Whistler this February as part of Celebration 2010. The Whistler Arts Council is pleased to announce the return of the Canadian National Snow Sculpture Team with special guests, Team Alberta. Both teams will work on Whistler Mountain, near The Roundhouse, to take advantage of crisp temperatures and ideal conditions for sculpting in snow.
