The Visa Spring Dine & Unwind Contest Official Rules
May 1 – June 28, 2008

  1. The VISA Spring Dine & Unwind Contest (the "Contest"), sponsored by Visa Canada and Tourism Whistler (together the "Sponsors") commences at 12:01am P.T. on May 1, 2008 and concludes at 11:59 pm P.T. on June 28, 2008 (the "Contest Period").
  2. How To Participate:
    1. Purchase Entry. Receive a contest ballot (the "Ballot"), while supplies last (maximum of 2,500 Ballots available), each time a purchase is made with your Visa® card at any participating Spring Dine & Unwind restaurant or spa location (participating restaurants and spas are listed on www.whistler.com/dine) during the Contest Period. Limit of one Contest Ballot per person, per day, per participating restaurant/spa. Deposit the completed Contest Ballot in the Ballot box on display at any participating Merchant for a chance to win the grand prize consisting of both a Summer and Winter Getaway vacation for two people to Whistler (the "Grand Prize").
    2. No Purchase Method of Entry: To enter without purchase or obligation, a Contest Ballot may also be obtained by printing your name, address, phone number on a 3.5" x 5" card together with a 100 word essay on the value of having a Visa card and mailing it together with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the "Visa Spring Dine & Unwind Contest", c/o Tourism Whistler, 4010 Whistler Way, Whistler, BC, V0N 1B4. No purchase entry requests must be received no later than June 23 2008. You must complete the back of the Contest Ballot and deposit it in the Ballot box on display at the participating restaurant or spa. Limit of one no purchase Ballot per person, per self-addressed envelope, per day, per participating restaurant/spa. All Non-Purchase Entries and Purchase Entries (collectively "Entries" or an "Entry") become the property of the Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned.
  3. Eligibility: The Contest is only open to individuals who reside in Canada (excluding residents of the province of Quebec) and to legal residents of the U.S., who are of the age of majority in the province/territory/state in which they reside as of May 1, 2008. Entrants must also be primary holders of a Visa card issued by a Canadian or U.S. financial institution ("FI"), that is open and in good standing at the time of verification for the Contest (as reflected in the records of his/her Visa issuing FI). The Contest is not open to directors, officers or employees of Tourism Whistler, Visa Canada, its licensed financial institutions, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, the independent contest judging organization, or anyone with whom any of those persons are domiciled. By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Contest Rules and to accept the decisions of the Sponsors and the independent contest judging organization as final. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
  4. Prizes: There is one (1) Grand Prize consisting of both a Summer and Winter Getaway vacation trip to Whistler for 2 people, each trip to include: four (4) nights accommodation in a standard hotel room (approximate retail value "ARV" $600), four (4) $50 restaurant certificates valid for redemption at four separate Spring Dine & Unwind participating restaurants and one (1) $100 spa certificate valid for redemption at one of two Spring Dine & Unwind participating spas, selected by the Sponsors. The total approximate value of each trip is valued at $900.00 CAD. The total ARV of the Grand Prize is $1,800.00 CAD. Grand Prize is subject to availability, depending on dates selected and subject to holiday blackout periods. Accommodations to be selected by Tourism Whistler. Package does not include: items of a Visa Spring Dine & Unwind Contest personal nature, any meals or transportation, pre or post-travel arrangements, hotel incidentals (phone, laundry, etc.), gratuities, or any applicable taxes. Any portion of the Grand Prize not accepted or redeemed by a winner will be forfeited. Tourism Whistler reserves the right to substitute the Grand Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Grand Prize is unavailable, with a Grand Prize or Grand Prize component of equal or greater retail value. The Grand Prize is not transferable, not redeemable for cash, not for re-sale and will be awarded to the confirmed winner only. Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded and both Summer and Winter Getaway vacations must be redeemed by April 30, 2009.
  5. Odds: The odds of winning the Grand Prize are dependent on the total number of eligible Ballots received at the end of the Spring Dine & Unwind Period out of a total of 2500 available Ballots.
  6. Grand Prize Draw: All Ballots will be collected from the participating restaurants and spas at the end of the Contest Period. A random draw (the "Draw") for the Grand Prize will be made from among all such eligible entries by Tourism Whistler in Whistler, British Columbia on July 15, 2008 at 9 am P.S.T.
  7. Grand Prize Winner Notification: Within 14 days of the Draw, Tourism Whistler will contact the selected entrant for the Grand Prize with a prize notification package by registered mail or courier at the address provided on their Ballot. The Sponsors will not engage in correspondence regarding the Contest with any person other than the selected entrant. In order to win the Grand Prize, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, arithmetical, skill-testing question and sign and return a standard declaration and release form within 23 days from the time the prize notification is postmarked as having been sent. The Grand Prize will be forfeited and available for award to an alternate selected entrant if the prize notification package is returned as non-deliverable, if the standard declaration and release form, including skill-testing question, is not completed and returned within 23 days from the time the prize notification package is postmarked as having been sent, or if the skill testing question has been incorrectly answered. The above process will be repeated until the Grand Prize is awarded.
  8. Additional Terms: By participating in the Contest, entrants accept and agree to:
    1. These Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsors regarding any aspect of the Contest, which shall be final and binding in all respects; and
    2. Release, discharge, and hold harmless Tourism Whistler, Visa Canada, its respective licensed financial institutions, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees, including their promotional agencies and the independent contest judging organization, from any liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the Contest and the acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of any prize. By accepting a prize, winners agree to the Sponsors' and its designees' use of their names and/or photograph for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation. The Sponsors shall not be responsible for print or typographical errors in any Contest related materials; for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible Ballots or for postage due Non-Purchase Entries. The Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or modify the Contest for fraud or any other reason that in the Sponsor's sole discretion compromises the integrity of the Contest.
  9. Privacy Policy: By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the Sponsors' and their agencies' collection, storage and use of the entrant's personal information provided on the Ballot for the purpose of administration of the Contest in accordance with these Contest rules and the privacy policy of Visa Canada at www.visa.ca/privacy and the privacy policy of Tourism Whistler at Visa Spring Dine & Unwind Contest www.tourismwhistler.com/copyright_privacy.asp The Sponsors will not sell or otherwise disclose entrants' personal information.
  10. Winner's Name: For the name of the winner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope (ensure sufficient postage is included) to: Visa Spring Dine & Unwind Contest c/o Tourism Whistler, 4010 Whistler Way, Whistler, BC, V0N 1B4. Requests for the winners' names must be received no later than July 30, 2008.
