Travelling tips

Before you go, make sure you meet Canada’s passport requirements for entering the country. To save money on checked baggage, bring your ski/snowboard boots into the cabin with you. Most airlines will allow this in addition to your carry-on allotment. Or, leave your gear at home and take advantage of Whistler’s extensive ski and snowboard rental equipment. From high-performance to beginner gear, everything you need is in Whistler. An alternative to renting is taking our many demo styles and brands for a free test run. Experiment on our slopes before buying back home. Change them up every couple of hours if you want, the demo tents are open all day.

If you’re coming to Whistler in the warmer months, a variety of mountain bikes and golf clubs can be rented right in Whistler Village.

Flying to Canada: Carry-On Restrictions

Liquids, Gels and Aerosols

Passengers will be permitted to bring liquids, gels and aerosols through security screening at Canadian airports provided that the items are packaged in containers with a capacity of 100 mL / 100 grams (3.4 oz) or less, and that the containers fit comfortably in one clear, closed and re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity of no more than 1 litre (1 quart). One bag per passenger will be permitted.

Passengers may continue to bring aboard baby formula, baby food, milk, water and juice if an infant under two years of age is travelling.

Liquid prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger's ticket or boarding pass, and other essential non-prescription liquid medicines continue to be permitted and are exempt from the container size restrictions. In addition, they are not required to be placed in a plastic bag.

To speed up the screening process, passengers should place all liquids, gels, and aerosols from their carry-on bags into the trays provided at the beginning of the screening process. When possible, passengers should have documentation supporting a medical condition.

For more information on permitted and non-permitted carry-on luggage items, check the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority.
