Seven elected individuals and six appointees represent the various sector interests on the 13-member Board of Directors; the activities of Tourism Whistler are further directed by its membership through bylaws that are approved by the municipal council and the provincial Ministry of Municipal Affairs.

Tourism Whistler’s Departments
The Communications department works to enhance the overall awareness of Whistler while collaborating with partners to generate and manage media coverage and to improve two-way communications with other key stakeholders.

Advertising:
The Advertising Programs team is responsible for the development and execution of Tourism Whistler's advertising plans including an integrated mix of traditional media, new media, social media and CRM.
Partnership Marketing and Collateral:
The Partnership Marketing and Collateral team oversees strategic alliances, partnerships and promotions with corporate partners (Visa, Canwest, Pacific Newspaper Group), cross-promotional partners (such as Nike Golf), and the execution of related programs.
Information Technology:
The Information Technology department is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the organization in the areas of software, data and communications technology.
Web Services:
Web Services designs, manages and updates the Whistler.com website. From seasonal changes to new packages, promotions and marketing initiatives, new pages are created and existing pages are edited on a daily basis.
Tourism Whistler’s digital assets can be accessed through theTourism Whistler image library.
The mission of the Research Department is to provide Tourism Whistler Members and internal departments with timely, relevant, user-friendly research to support strategic sales and marketing initiatives.

The Event Tourism Department helps to promote and grow festivals and special events that increase visits to Whistler while streamlining the event organizing process for event producers by acting as the first point of contact, and knowledgeable resource for event producers.

Corporate Services
The Finance Department is responsible for all account reconciliations, payables, and receivables, financial reporting including audited financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
In addition to the interviewing and hiring of employees, the Human Resources Department fosters a culture of exceptional service, employee development and high performance ensuring employees are supported, valued and engaged.
The Membership Services department is responsible for communication and engagement with the Members of Tourism Whistler, and for administering all Member program and services. In addition, Member Services is the primary contact for any questions from Members or third parties regarding Tourism Whistler’s membership benefits and requirements.
The Whistler Golf Club works in co-operation with its in-resort partners to establish Whistler as the Number One Mountain Golf Destination in North America. http://www.whistlergolf.com/
The Building Operations Department's core objective is to maintain the physical assets which Tourism Whistler manages, primarily the Whistler Conference Centre, Activity Centre and the Whistler Golf Course buildings.
The Tourism Whistler Visitor Services Department is Whistler's official resource for all in-resort information, activity bookings, and transportation. Working out of the Visitor Information Centre, team members know Whistler and the surrounding areas inside out and provide information such as fun things to do, bus schedules, driving and walking directions, dining options and maps.
Sales
The Leisure Sales Department takes a leadership role in generating consumer awareness of Whistler via the consumer directly, trade groups and the media in key overseas markets, thus increasing year-round business to Whistler.

The Conference Sales Department generates room nights to the resort and revenues for the Whistler Conference Centre. The aim is to bring large resort-wide conference groups to Whistler that impact the whole resort and enhance awareness of Whistler as the ideal meeting destination year-round.

Conference Services oversees the execution of all meetings, conferences and events/festivals taking place within the Whistler Conference Centre. The department works very closely with our contracted caterer, Building Operations and Conference Sales to ensure the best experience for our conference guests.
Tourism Whistler’s central reservations call centre delivers visitors to the resort by promoting and selling Whistler via the Tourism Whistler website and through effective conversion and retention programs, thereby contributing to the viability of all resort partners and stakeholders.
